At Fox Hollow Farm, sharing our love of farming with our neighbors and guests is our passion. We offer lamb, goat (chevon) and eggs.

We strive daily to create a peaceful and harmonious environment that our friends, animals and plants can thrive in. Our farm is completely natural. We are not yet organic but we do not feed our animals growth hormones or feeds that are supplemented in any way. We love our animals so when they are sick we do treat them, but in the least invasive way possible. Vegetables and fruits grown on our farm are treated the same way. We create a healthy soil that the plants can thrive in without using pesticides.

Our goal is to create a farm where you can visit us and our animals and where you will have the opportunity to purchase fresh-from-the-farm healthy and tasty things to eat. Kookaburra Farm – Grass Fed Beef.

Kookaburra Farm began as a small market vegetable and grass fed lamb operation in the hills of New England in 1998. It has matured into a multi-generational family farm in the Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania. We sell beef at our farm and  deliver to buying groups in local PA and MD counties.

We strive to offer a 100% grass fed, nutrient dense product raised on organically managed (but not certified) pastures, stored forages, minerals and well water. The key to our management system is minimizing stress in every aspect of our animal's lives.

Our cattle are processed at a family run USDA facility where they are dry aged, cryovac sealed, and blast frozen. We strive to finish mature, well fattened animals. Our ground beef is a 75-25 blend that brings a juicy, flavorful eating experience full of the good fats that grass fed beef has to offer. We sell 40lb. 'Family Packs' that consist of 50% ground beef – 50% steaks and roasts. We also sell our ground beef and other excellent cuts separate from our Family Packs. Please email for a price list.

Pure Indian Foods is a small family-owned business that takes pride in making an exceptional quality Ghee from Grass-Fed cows.  Ghee is butter with the milk solids removed. Our family has been in this business in Northern India for 5 generations, since 1889.  We make our ghee fresh, with care, in small batches, right here in the USA. We use Grass-Fed, USDA-certified Organic butter for making our ghee, and we are in the process of applying for Organic certification.

Ghee has been used for its health-giving and healing properties for thousands of years.  In Ayurveda (the “science of life”), cow ghee is considered one of the most sacred foods.

Ghee is the best cooking oil as it is stable at higher temperatures, and it enhances the flavor of spices and herbs. Ghee is free of casein and lactose and is suitable for people who are allergic to dairy products. It keeps skin soft, and has anti-aging properties. Ghee contains naturally occurring CLA, Omega-3, Vitamins A, D, E & K2. It is free of harmful trans-fats.

Ghee is shelf-stable and we ship worldwide by USPS, UPS, FedEx or DHL.  We offer special discounts to co-ops and buying clubs.

Ruth Ann's Garden Style Beef is produced on a 140-acre "all-grass" farm about an hour from Washington, DC and Baltimore and 20 minutes northwest of Frederick, Maryland. We are the third generation to manage the farm, which has been in the family since 1938.

We practice management intensive grazing, a pasture system that utilizes multiple smaller pastures with frequent animals movements. This allows better weight gain and is more environmentally friendly, resulting in a much healthier and nutritious pasture.

Ruth Ann's Garden Style Beef is:

  • Naturally fattened, dry-aged beef grown on a succulent "garden" of grasses, legumes, and forbes
  • Healthy, tender grass-fed beef
  • Tasty, with a bold, robust flavor
  • Free from added hormones or antibiotics
  • High in Omega 3 fatty acids
  • High in CLA
  • USDA inspected
  • Aged for 3 weeks to promote tenderness (beef in grocery stores is not aged)
  • Sold in bulk packages as well as individual cuts, ground beef, and patties

Shagbark Mountain Cattle is two farms located in Circleville and Petersburg, WV. We raise Black Angus and Simental cattle on over 200 acres of clover, broome and orchard grass—naturally without hormones or chemical fertilizers. Our mountain cattle are raised from birth to processing on our farm. We market our grass-fed beef from our office in Maryland, across the river from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

Our meat is processed in a small family-run butcher shop that has been in business since the 1800s. The meat is USDA inspected and vacuum packed for freshness and freezer life. Paper wrapped is available upon request.

We offer whole beef at $3.00/lb., half-beef at $3.25/lb., and one-quarter beef (split-side) at $3.75/lb, based on hanging weight, cut to your specifications. This price includes processing. E-mail us for order form. Limited supply available year round.

We are now offering pastured lamb. We have a flock of St. Croix hair sheep that have lambed and are now available either live or processed. Processed lamb is $5.50/lb. based on hanging weight. Please call or e-mail us with any questions or for more information.

Wagon Wheel Ranch raises beef, lamb, pork, goat, and eggs free range on our pastures. We do not use antibiotics or hormones.

Our pigs are raised in a wooded area with a connected pasture where they eat weeds and grass, which give the meat a better flavor. They are supplemented with some pig feed and raw peanuts. The oil from the peanuts gives the meat that famous Virginia ham taste. Because our pigs roam free they produce lean pork.

Our sheep and goats only eat pasture and hay in the winter. The sheep are hair sheep that shed their wool so no shearing is necessary. Hair sheep are naturally parasite resistant and do not require frequent drenching.

Our laying flock roam the farm during the day and return to the barn at night for protection from predators. Their diet consists of ground corn and bugs/insects, the diet Nature intended so that they would have the necessary oil to produce eggs. Commercial egg laying operations that confine their chickens use old restaurant grease as a cheap source of oil. This makes the eggs high in the bad cholesterol. In the winter we feed sunflower seeds as their source for oil.

We raise small frame herefords and black angus. The beef industry has bred to produce bigger cows that do not efficiently convert grass to meat. Our cows are easy on their environment, and are only fed hay in addition to pasture grass. Our cuts of beef tend to be smaller than what is sold in the stores, but there is less fat.

In the summer months all our animals have free access to organic kelp and remond salt; in the winter months the animals have access to minerals.

Wagon Wheel Ranch is located in Mt. Airy, Maryland, an hour north of Washington DC, 45 minutes west of Baltimore, 20 minutes northwest of Columbia, and 15 minutes east of Frederick.
