At Good Fork Foods, we know our meat from beginning to end.

Lovingly raised by Julie Bolton of Groff's Content Farm in Rocky Ridge, Maryland, or similar farms in southeastern Pennsylvania, our meat is organically raised, local and grass-fed and finished resulting in tasty, lean meat. No hormones or antibiotics are used.

Transported for less than an hour and a half, the animals are slaughtered, butchered and USDA inspected at George Ruppersberger and Sons in Baltimore.

A typical box of lamb contains 7-9 pounds. A typical box of beef contains 23-25 pounds. Boxes consist of a variety of mixed cuts which are frozen and wrapped for freezer storage. Cuts are individually wrapped, labeled and marked with weights.

Lamb boxes include: leg roast, loin chops, shanks and ground lamb. (Some boxes may also contain: lamb breast, shoulder roast, rib chops and stew meat.)

Beef boxes include a mix of the following cuts: porterhouse steaks, t-bone steaks, sirloin steaks & tips, round steaks & roasts, rump roast, flank steak, ground beef and stew meat. (Some boxes may also
contain: shoulder steak & roast, chuck steak & roast, ribeye steak, brisket, french roast, breast deckel, short rib & prime rib.)

Nick's Organic Farm raises tender delicious angus grassfed beef, pastured chicken and turkey, and free range eggs. Our certified organic herd grazes in the fertile Frederick Valley. Since 1979, we have been committed to quality organic products and constant improvement in our farming methods. We constantly conduct on-farm research with federal, state and non-profit agencies to refine our organic practices. We cooperate with USDA's Agricultural Research Service to improve our crops and pastures and to breed and manage our herd organically so that it has maximum natural resistance to disease without the use of synthetic chemicals. We also participated in a university study documenting the nutritional advantages of grassfed beef.

Our organic beef are never fed grain, hormones or antibiotics. Our herd and flocks are moved frequently to fresh new pasture under a management intensive grazing system. We sell beef by the whole, half, quarter, eighth, and smaller quantities. An eighth will fit into the freezer compartment of a refrigerator, and many of our customers split an order with family or friends. Our beef is dry aged over two weeks, and it is cut and frozen in a USDA inspected small family owned facility. Our turkeys and chickens are fed organic grain grown on our farm and graze on our organic pastures, and receive no hormones or antibiotics. Our certified organic poultry is processed on our farm.

Available at our processor or from our farms in Buckeystown or Potomac, MD, our beef, poultry and eggs are convenient to Washington-Baltimore, Northern Virginia, and Frederick-Hagerstown customers.

Inquire about our Farm Tour days and about apprenticeship opportunities.  We also sell organic poultry feeds, grains, and hay.

True Ewe Farm is a small, seasonal, grass-based sheep farm located in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, about an hour outside of Washington, DC. We produce natural, grassfed lamb and (coming in 2008) artisan farmstead sheep's milk cheeses.

We are dedicated to following sustainable and humane agricultural practices to produce high quality foods from Virginia's fine mountain meadow grasses.

Our lamb is tender, full of flavor and healthy for you. All our lambs are raised on the farm’s pasture salad – a local blend of native herbs, clover and grasses. They receive no antibiotics or growth-promoting hormones, and you never have to worry about animal byproducts in their diet.

We employ intensive rotational grazing, which allows us to fulfill the sheep's natural desire to graze on the freshest feed possible and to naturally fertilize the land.

We lamb once a year, so the supply is limited. Currently, we sell only whole lambs and half lambs. Intimidated by buying that much lamb? Don't be. Check out the “FAQ” section on our web site.

We invite you to enjoy the fruits of our labor. Eat Local! Eat True!

West Wind Farm produces grass-finished MOUNTAIN PASTURED BEEF. Our beautiful mountain farm is located near Grassy Meadows in Greenbrier County, WV. We market our beef in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. (See website for more inforrmation about delivery locations.)

Our Black Angus steers are finished for 5–6 months on our farm's rich grass and clover pastures, supplemented only with a natural kelp mineral mix. We feed no hormones, antibiotics, steroids, animal byproducts, GM feeds, or grain. We lead the animals to fresh pastures every one to three days. We do not send them to feedlots. Our steers are processed by a respected, family-owned, custom slaughterhouse in Lewisberg, WV. We believe in managing our animals gently and our pastures organically, for the optimum health of our environment, our animals, and our consumers.

In winter and spring, MOUNTAIN PASTURED BEEF is available in 10–12 lb. mixed-cut sampler packets and/or 2-pound (8 patties) hamburger packs. In summer we invite advance orders for custom-butchered halves or split halves (quarters) for fall delivery. All our meat is USDA inspected, aged for at least 2 weeks, and flash frozen.

For ordering details, see our West Wind Farm website: http://www.westwindfarm.biz or contact Martha Holdridge:

Whitmore Farm specializes in pasture-raised, heritage breed chickens, turkeys, sheep and goats. Our animals spend their time on pasture and produce high-quality products which can be bought on-farm and at farmers markets in the Metropolitan D.C./Baltimore area.

We also take special orders for lamb, eggs, chevon and vegetables in the spring, summer and fall.

Many of our products are certified-organic by the Maryland Department of Agriculture, and we feel our animals are treated very humanely.

Pasture-raised animals have better flavor, are more nutritious, and are better for you and our environment.

We encourage farm visits and look forward to seeing you soon!
